Failed RAID Rebuilds: data recovery

The rebuild stopped part-way, a second drive failed, or the array is now marked as crashed? Do not try again – we can usually rebuild it safely from drive images.

Failed RAID Rebuilds: data recovery

Why rebuilds fail

Rebuilding reads every sector of every remaining drive. Any weak drive can fail under that load, leaving the array in an inconsistent state. Repeated attempts make it worse.

Our method

We image every drive, identify the stripe size, order and parity layout, and rebuild the array virtually.

Common questions

Can you recover after the NAS re-initialised the drives?

Often, if initialisation did not overwrite the whole drive. Stop immediately.

Do you need the failed drive too?

Yes. Even a failing drive can provide missing pieces.

What does data recovery cost?

Every case starts with a professional evaluation (£94.80), followed by a fixed quote.

Get a price from a technician

Tell us the make, the model and what has gone wrong. A technician replies with a price and the quickest way to sort it – normally the same working day.
