SSD & NVMe data recovery

SSDs fail without warning: one day the drive simply disappears. We recover SATA, M.2 NVMe and portable SSDs from all major manufacturers.

SSD & NVMe data recovery

How SSD failures differ

An SSD has no moving parts. Failures are usually in the controller, firmware or power circuits, and the drive vanishes or reports the wrong size. Data is spread across flash chips by the controller, so recovery needs controller-specific tools, and hardware encryption may tie the data to the original board.

Deleted files on SSDs

Most SSDs use TRIM, which clears deleted data within minutes. Recovering deleted files from SSDs is therefore rarely possible – backups and cloud copies are usually the answer. Failed drives are a different story and are often recoverable.

Common questions

My laptop SSD is not detected. Is the data lost?

Not necessarily. Controller faults are common and often recoverable.

Can you recover a soldered MacBook SSD?

Only by repairing the logic board, because the storage is encrypted to it.

How long does a recovery take?

Straightforward cases take a few days; clean-room and RAID work can take longer.

Get a price from a technician

Tell us the make, the model and what has gone wrong. A technician replies with a price and the quickest way to sort it – normally the same working day.
