BitLocker & Encrypted Drives: data recovery

Encrypted drives can be recovered when they fail – as long as you still have the password or recovery key. We repair the hardware so your key can unlock the data.

BitLocker & Encrypted Drives: data recovery

What we need

BitLocker needs the 48-digit recovery key, usually stored in your Microsoft account or by your IT team. FileVault needs your Mac password or recovery key. Hardware-encrypted drives need their password. Without these, encrypted data cannot be read by anyone.

Common questions

Can you bypass BitLocker?

No. Nobody can bypass properly configured encryption. We need your key.

My laptop asks for a BitLocker key after an update. Is my data lost?

No. Enter the key from your Microsoft account; if you cannot find it, contact us before trying anything else.

How long does a recovery take?

Straightforward cases take a few days; clean-room and RAID work can take longer.

Get a price from a technician

Tell us the make, the model and what has gone wrong. A technician replies with a price and the quickest way to sort it – normally the same working day.
